- Which speaker did you connect with most or who inspired you most?
- Which performer/performance did you connect with most or inspired you most?
- What is the 'spark' that has been ignited in you that will bring about change?
T-shirts were in fact $25 this year. We are asking students to bring in the $5 to cover the cost of the t-shirts. Students who have not yet brought in his/her money, please do so next week.
The speaker I had the most connection to was the person who was bullied because she was blind I have a connection to her was because she taught me that sticks and stones can breake my bones but words will never hurt me.the performance I had the most connection to was demi lavato skyscraper because throughout the song she was saying " you can't breake me.
ReplyDeletealso demi has inspired me to collect money to give to the people kenya who need help. The spark in me that i will bring to b.t.c is to inform people that there are others in the world who need help.also to help changing the world through the oppurtunitys we get to have in btc.
DeleteThe speaker that i connected with was the blind girl who struggled through out life by being bullied but still managed to remember the words that her mother taught her,"stick and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me ". After those moments she started to help others and from then on she was called a friend.
ReplyDeleteshe also told me in her speech that " you should ignore all the negative words people tell you and replace them with positive words that you should tell others". Despite the fact that she lost her sight at the age of 14, she still managed to make difference in other peoples daily life. For example she helped build a school in India while she was there and now kids who have dreamed of going to school can now go.
DeleteThe speaker that I will always remember was Molly Burke, she is visually impaired and she had to suffer from bullies. It is bad to get bullied in the first place, but being blind and not knowing what they are doing is even worse. She remembered her mothers words "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never heart me" I will remember her because now she has changed peoples lives and people call her a friend now.
ReplyDeleteThe speaker that inspired me the most was blind girl that was bullied because she couldn't see. The things that the bullies did were very disrespectful. They took the advantage of her being blind and wrote mean things on her face. I always remember her for being strong and for overcoming her obstacles.
ReplyDeleteSpencer West connected to me because even though your missing a body part you can accomplish great things, like how Spencer West did when he climb Kilimanjaro to raise money for clean water only with his hands, wheelchair, and his 2 great friends.Did you know that Kilimanjaro is one of the heights mountains in Africa.
ReplyDeleteAstin, i agree with you because even if people tell you your dream will never happen you always can.
DeleteHe made me inspired because if I lost a body part I would work though the issue like he did. Also made me think what would I do if did not have legs how would I act.
Deletethe speaker that inspired me was Molly Burke, because when she became blind and her friends left her and on her birthday made her look so bad and called her names. But amazingly with the help of her mom got by it and now knows how to deal with bullies and overcome obstacles. I think learning about how kids, especially girls are still not getting the proper education. The story of that girl who got shot in the head because of her beliefs and the boy in slavery that was killed because of his story about the world he lives in, both really showed what is still going on in the world and how disrespectful people still are.
ReplyDeleteThe person that connected with me the most was Spencer West. He lost his legs and people said he would never walk. He took that as a challenge and he walked up mt. Kilomanjaro on his hands.
ReplyDeleteGabe I found your message was true don't let people say what you can do or can't do.
DeleteThe speaker that inspired me the most was Spencer West. He proved to me that no matter who you are nothing is impossible.
ReplyDeleteMolly Burke also inspired me. In her speech she talked about how ignore negative comments but take the positive comments.
Deletethe person that inspired me was the blind girl because when she became blind all her friends started calling her names and they were making her feel unsafe also she used the words her mom taught her "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" to help her get through the pain.
ReplyDeleteThe speaker that inspired me the most was Spencer West. He inspired me because he lost his legs and walked up mount Kilomanjaro ON HIS HANDS. If I lost my legs I would of never been able to do what he did and I would probably would just sit around all day doing nothing. The message that I got through his speech was that no matter what people say you are who you are.
ReplyDeleteThe people that had inspired me at We Day were Spencer West and Molly. Spencer was motivational to me because he did something that I thought was amazing, hearing the story of him climbing the mountain makes me feel like I can accomplish any thing I put my mind to in life, all because of spencer west. Molly was inspirational because her story of her turing blind at 14 and her friends turning there backs on her, she broke down but then got right back up and didn't listen to those girls and more, and she would always remember sticks and stones may break my boys but words will never hurt me. If i was her I would have a hard time standing up because when i was being bullied i stood up but it took me a while to, if I had herd that speech when i was bullied i would have had courage to stand up for my self instead of staying in my shell.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Kinaya, Spencer and Molly were very inspirational and i also feel that i can accomplish anything i put my mind to.
DeleteThe speaker that inspired me the most was the girl that lost her vision. I think she had a really inspiring message that was to not let people that disrespect you and stop you from enjoying your life. Her message was to also stand up for yourself and not let people direspect you. The performer that inspired me the most was chris hatfeild his message was to not let things stop you from reaching your dreams. Also once you reach your dreams to be proud of the work you did. The spark that has been ignighted in me is very strong We day made me feel impowered to help change.
ReplyDeleteThere was no one speaker that I connected with but there was a lot of different speakers that a lot to say. Like how Spencer West accomplished something that was to a lot of people, impossible, even wiith his situation of having no legs. Or how Chris Hadfield had a dream to be an astronaut before he was even 10 years old, and how he said, "The sky is NOT the limit".
ReplyDeleteAlso, my favourite performer was Serena Ryder, because I could really connect with her when she said she used art to calm he down and to have fun. The spark that ignited me to bring about change is the phrase that I heard at We Day, "You pave the path for others" that really made me think that what I do impacts others and I can improve the future.
I had an amazing time at we day it was so inspiring and motivational. There were many people who inspired me but the people who inspired me most was Molly Burke and Spencer West. Molly Burke inspired me because when she became visually impaired all her friends ditched her and made fun of her just because she was blind but she always remembered her mothers quote "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me" and with that she was strong enough to overcome bullying. The next person who really inspired me was Spencer West he showed the would he can do anything by climbing a mountain with out his two legs people said he couldn't do it and he could never walk or run or climb but he sure showed them. I loved we day and i hope i get to go next year!
ReplyDeleteWe-day was amazing! All the speakers were great, but the one that spoke to me as a student the most was Spencer West. His story is of how he lost the feeling in his legs when he was young and had to get them cut off, then he climbed mount kilamanjaro! The lesson he has taught me is that you can do big things, even when you have very little.
ReplyDeleteWe -day 2013 was a very inspirational day. The speaker that i connected to the most was Spencer West because even though he is missing a body part he can still accomplish goals that people like us can set for ourselfs. For example, he climbed Mount Kilamanjaro and proved all of the disbeleivers wrong! To me that was very inspirational and i look up to him for setting high expectations and meeting them.
ReplyDeleteThe preformer that i connected to the most was Demi Lavato because she is a leader, she has a strong and powerful voice just like the other preformers. Also, she has very meaningful songs that we can all relate to at some point of our lives. Her songs connect to her personal struggles and they send a strong message to the audience. I thought that she was an exellent entertainer and the perfect choice for We-Day!
I thought We-Day was an inspirational and memorable experiance that i will cherish for the rest of my life! I now feel that i can speak up for myself and others who are affraid to make there voices be heard. I think i have the power to make significant changes that will greatly impact the world. For example, it can be as simple as fundraising money for chairities that will help people improve there lives!
We day was a life changing experyans .The speaker that inspired me most was Spencer West. He inspired me because he tot me that no matter how many people tell you can’t do something if you set your mind to it you will accomplish it. He told us that how he climed montkilojaro by waking on his hands that is more then incredible because he was told that he would never be able to walk but here he is now climbing a mountain. Spencer West you are incredible.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Seqouia, Spencer West was very inspiring and if you put your mind to something you can deffinetly accomplish anything!
DeleteThe speaker that most had inspired me was the blind girl who spoke about her experience when she was bullied. I think that she inspired me most was because I can relate to her feelings because I mostly bullied people when I was younger. But today I don't bully anymore because I knew earlier how victims felt when they are being picked on. But I think personally that listening to a persons real experience through her hard times i can truly now understand how a victims feelings are. It is better to improve my knowledge on the victims when listening to a persons real life experience as opposed to learning the basic feelings that a victim has. Now that i have a lot of knowledge on this, i can find better ways to prevent bullying from this world.
ReplyDeleteThe speaker that inspired me was Craig Kielburger because he started free the children at such a young age.It is amazing how much awareness they have spread. It has inspired me to do what is right even if I am standing alone.
