  1. The Vow of Silence intiative is almost wrapped up:
-we have a letter ready to be edited
    -assembly needs to get started
-announcements need to be worked on
-we should organize our posters and show them to Ms. Rambaran

  2. I thought that the Vow of Silence went pretty well. at recess, the only kids who were silent was the BTC committee. I think we could have done better. Also, in class were silent for most of the day.

  3. The vow of silence this year I think was very effective. I think now the McMurrich community knows about how bad child labour and bullying is, and how it feels to be forced into silence day after day. Spreading awareness, in my mind, is more important than raising money, because you are aware of everything going on, so you can better understand what you are going to donate to. I think it was effective because many people joined in our silent circle, even though they were not in BTC. I felt very proud and I think vow of silence was a huge success.

    1. But I think we could have done better because many kids were not silent during recess and were not silent when teachers were not around.

  4. The Vow of Silence was a very effective initive because we all got to know how children in developing countries feel when they are silenced. Also when we made a big circle in the field and we were silent many kids joined us and we made a big impact.

  5. The Vow of Silence initiative was very successful to spread awareness for children without a voice. During the vow of silence I felt proud because most people actually participated in the vow to help spread awareness to the Mcmurrich community.

Something that needed to be worked on was the things we were doing during recess because we were suppose to do a big circle but it was not the clear that students could join the circle.

  6. I believe that the vow of silence was very effective especially at recess when we stood in the circle at recess because lots of other student joined us and. also the vow spread a message it showed people how hard it is to be silent and what it would feel like to be silent.

  7. I think we did a good job at spreading awarness on causes that can effect children to be silent. I think that when we stood in a circle at recess it was effective because if people wanted to stay silent through recess they had somewhere to go. Also it made me realize how hard it is to not have an opinion and be silent all day.

  8. i thought that yesterday was a good success because at recess we had some kids come join the circle and mostly everyone was staying silent. but i think that next year we should try to get more kids to come join us maybe by saying "all kids are encouraged to join the circle at recess." on the announcements

  9. Staying silent the whole day made me realize how hard it is to have no voice and to never be able to share your opinion. Also, I saw that it made a difference in our school community. For example, I saw students join our silent circle during recess therefore we know thehy are listening.

  10. taking part in the vow silent was hard considering i was sick but in bet that btc was participating for the whole day. The vow of silence gave me the experience to understand how it is with out a voice or when you opinion does not matter.

  11. I thought the vow of silence went very well and raised a lot of awarnes about bullying, child labour and poverty. Personally I think the vow of silence was such a success because everyone in BTC was commited to staying along with the vow of silence, this helped because when other kids saw the btc commity being silent it created a chain reaction and the whole school worked together as a community and was silent for change

  12. My experience for we are silent is I liked it because we are in silent for kids who don’t have a voice to speak up for themselves. I we didn’t get a chance to talk to or friends at school or at home or some people just talked all day. Also I like how we all stood in a circle and had a sine or a sticker what the kids wrote on why where silent and the people would just stand there and people would come and read there sine’s and see what they are silent for.

  13. I think that at the beginning of the vow of silence, lots of kids caught on and it was spreading awareness. At the end a lot of kids were talking and forgetting about the vow. I think that can change by showing the people who are talking the shhhhh symbol. Overall, the vow was spreading a lot of awareness and I learned a lot about how people who were silenced feel.

  14. After taking part in the Vow of Silence, I can reflect on the initiative as well as how it was run. Throughout the event, I could tell many people were interested in what we were doing; many students spent their recesses by reading our signs, and joining into our circle. I believe this event helped to spread awareness about child labour, bullying and anything else that can silence someone, and the majority of the school learned about these issues.

  15. I think that Vow of Silence was really successful, I thought it was really successful because I felt how the children feel like when they can't speak. I also thought this initiative was successful because we spread awareness about the children who don't have a voice to express them selves. Another reason I think that this initiative ran successful because all the BTC members were in role and at recess we all went out side and stood out side in a circle facing out side the circle I think that was really affective.

  16. The vow of silence was successful in spreading awareness in our school about kids who do not have a vice because bullying or child labour. Most of the kids stayed silent for the time that they were suppose to. During recess most kids talked except the BTC students.
